Christina Riley is an experienced Senior Planner having worked in the Construction Industry for 25 years. She spent her early career working as a site engineer with GallifordTry before moving into Planning. Here she worked on a number of high profile projects including the Olympic Village, AELTC Wimbledon 20 Year Plan, Lakeside Shopping Centre and the British Airways World Cargo Centre. In 2013 she joined Balfour Beatty as Senior Planner working on the Hounslow School Projects and Reading Secondary Schools. In 2017 she was recognised at the British LGBT Awards with the Corporate Rising Star Award. This award recognises the individual that is inspiring change in their industry and beyond for LGBT people in the workplace. Christina Transitioned at Balfour Beatty following the launch of their LGBT & Allies Network, and since has gone on to be chair, and winning the CECA Inspiring Change Award in 2016. Christina has also been named in the OUTstanding Future Leaders Lists 3 years running published in the FT. She is a member of a number of Diversity & Inclusion Committees, including the Chartered Institute of Building Diversity and Skills Special Interest Group; The UK Construction Week Diversity & Skills Committee; #Building Equality – Construction Industry LGBT Network; InterEngineering – The Engineering LGBT Network; Off Site; and National Student Pride. Christina is an active public speaker on Equality Diversity & Inclusion and runs the LGBT Construct forum which has over 4000 followers on social media. Christina is a CITB Ambassador and a FIR – Fairness Inclusion & Respect Ambassador.
