Richard Bond joined The Coal Authority, the Public Sector Arms-Length Body making a better future for people and the environment in mining areas, as Commercial Director in September 2017.
Over the past twenty-five years he has primarily worked in the commercial sector concentrated on working in newly emerging fields, development and integration projects.
He has previously worked for Tesco PLC and held Board positions at Center Parcs UK Ltd and Jamie Hempsall Ltd.
During his career to date Richard has played a critical role as part of the six person team who set up Tesco Direct, spearheaded the commercial and financial integration of two subsidiary companies for Center Parcs, developed and delivered their first IT Strategy to enable full separation of Center Parcs UK from Center Parcs Europe and undertook a full business regeneration for Jamie Hempsall Ltd turning a failing company into a nationally award winning design consultancy.
Richard is a Chartered Management Accountant and Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Over the last 14 years, Richard has taken on voluntary strategic and operational roles within Macmillan Cancer Support, for whom he developed and now chairs a sector changing National Volunteer Forum. He has also taken on fundraising and advisory roles for The Terrence Higgins Trust.
