Darren has been working for the past twenty years within the environmental sustainability management and Corporate Responsibility field of the construction industry on projects such as Thames Tideway Tunnel, London 2012 Olympic Park and Village, HS2, Channel Tunnel Rail Link and restoration projects such as St Pancras International Station and St Martins in the Field. During that time he has worked directly for contractors such as Balfour Beatty and Costain, and programme managers such as CH2M Hill. Prior to this he studied Environmental Studies at DeMontfort University, Bedford and Arctic Studies and the Politics of the Former Soviet Union at Lapin Yliopisto, Rovaniemi, Finland.
He is experienced in developing and delivering policies and strategies for some of the largest infrastructure projects in the UK and has presented at various international conferences and produced several journal papers.
Darren is currently Head of Sustainability for Tideway, where he is accountable for the strategic management of the legacy, skills and employment and environmental commitments (such as the Green Bonds impact reporting) for Tideway.
